One of the many things that parents must do is ensure that all of their baby’s clothes are washed, dried, and ready for use the next day.
That being said, not a lot of parents actually know to clean baby clothes properly. So today, I am going to impart some nifty tips and tricks to help you clean your baby’s clothing the right way.
Always Remove All of the Tags First
Whether you are given some baby clothes from your baby shower or if you buy new ones yourself, it is important that you always remove any tags and stickers on the clothes. This is to ensure that nothing gets in the way while you are washing them.
Pay close attention for stickers since any sticker, when left on the clothing, can actually melt into the clothes, leaving a permanent mark. You do not want this to happen now, do you?
Read the Care Label Before Washing
Baby clothes are not made the same. There are those that are made of polyester, some are made of cotton, and some are made with a combination of either of them.
Be that as it may, it is important that you read the care label that is usually imprinted on the clothing before you start washing them. Oftentimes, they will guide you on what to use to wash the clothes, among other things.
Do not just blindly put your baby’s clothes inside the washing machine because there are those that are only washed appropriately by using your hands.
Use a Different Laundry Hamper for Baby’s Clothes
Although you can technically lump your baby’s clothes together with yours in just one laundry hamper, it is not advisable to do so. That is because you may lose track of how many clothes you have washed and what are the ones that you haven’t yet.
That is why you will want to get another hamper that is specifically only for your baby’s clothes and nothing else. You will be surprised how many socks or bibs your baby’s got at the ready when you do so.
Use Fragrance-Free Laundry Detergent
Do not use a laundry detergent that is fit only for adults. You’d want to use a special laundry detergent that is made with ingredients that are proven safe to your baby’s delicate skin.
Always Use the Dryer
Cloth Dryers are a godsend for many parents, especially if they are taking care of a relatively young baby. You see, babies can get really dirty and they poop and pee a lot during the day.
You might find that your baby has pooped on your bed and of course, you need to wash the bedsheet immediately.
You will also easily find that you will run out of baby clothes sooner rather than later simply because you forgot to wash the new ones and have them dry out quickly.
That is where the dryer comes in. It allows you to wash the clothes and have them dried in no time- giving you peace of mind that you can give your baby some new fresh clothes for them to wear.
